Émilie & Voltaire - WINS AT PARIS FILM FESTIVAL
Emilie & Voltaire (concept film) has won Best Production Design at the Paris Film Festival 2021.
Nicholas takes the baton for Shrek, the musical at the Hanoi Opera House!
Émilie & Voltaire - A Cinematic Opera
Nicholas' opera, Émilie & Voltaire has recommenced production of the concept film that will premiere in Italy as part of the Puccini Opera Festival 2021.
Cowra Civic Centre - Artist in Residence
Cowra has an extensive history and story to tell about the role of peace. Drawing on the events of the Cowra Breakout with the Japanese and Italian prisoners of war, the World Peace Bell, the Japanese Gardens, Peace Precinct and ongoing commitment to international understanding, Nicholas composed the World Peace Day Suite.
Cowra Shire residents also had a unique opportunity to take part in workshops in music composition, with Gentile conducting free weekly composition workshops for secondary students and adults during his four week residency.

Together, Apart - Gertrude Opera
Created by Australian composer Nicholas Gentile and Lincoln Hall, Together Apart explores complexities of human relationships in a swipe left or right world. Moments of intimacy, doubt, honesty, and choice, the piece gives a snapshot of four young lives negotiating what brings us together and pushes us apart. Together Apart is about letting people in and letting people go.
Gertrude Opera's production of Together, Apart has four accomplished young Australian singers take on the 16 songs in this work.
